From the deep mountains of Guizhou to the frenzy of the cryptocurrency world, how did a rural boy with only a primary school diploma, a child laborer, write a brilliant chapter in crypto over ten years, only to fall back to the bottom in two years?
1. Grassroots Counterattack:#
I was born in the mid-1990s in the deep mountains of northern Guizhou, where my family was impoverished, struggling to find enough food and clothing. As a left-behind child, I dropped out of school after graduating from primary school and started working at the age of 13. I began as a child laborer in Jinhua, Zhejiang, later becoming a small-time thug in the county, nicknamed "Little Guizhou," frequently in and out of the police station, mingling with the shop owner's wife, living aimlessly and getting by. By chance, I followed a local thug and, with the help of his parents, was admitted to the music department of Zhejiang Art College, but was expelled due to my bad habits and fighting. After that, I wandered around the country, visiting places like Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen, sleeping under bridges, living in caves, and barely surviving on leftover food from street vendors and the support of a prostitute.
2. Cryptocurrency Storm:#
In 2013, I took over a bar on a famous garbage street in Hangzhou, where I met a customer who became my benefactor and introduced me to the cryptocurrency world. I bought my first Bitcoin on the BTCC exchange. In 2014, I sold the bar and then worked full-time managing the daily operations of a mining farm; my iconic profile picture was taken at that time, carrying a bag of mining machine parts. In 2016, I created a mining machine trading group. From 2017 to 2018, I reached the peak of my life, relying on my youthful appearance (I did look good back then) and a daring attitude to secure a stable supply from a woman in her thirties, achieving my first small financial goal. Later, I switched to popular computing power platforms and made tens of millions through "betting" agreements. My trading in cryptocurrencies went smoothly, operating with dot, uni, Pangu, okex happiness beans, Luna, etc., with each operation widely circulated and yielding rich rewards! Despite my Weibo account being banned multiple times, I managed to earn tens of thousands or even over a hundred thousand each time.
3. Fall and Reflection: From Billions to Millions in Debt#
After switching to Twitter, I spent thousands of Ethereum, bottoming out with 40 Bored Ape NFTs at around 100 ETH. Then, I heavily invested in inscriptions with over a hundred Bitcoins, especially in on-chain meme coins like Quark, Dogecoin, and Trump Coin, only to be continuously cut down. After Trump took office, I went long on Dogecoin at 0.3, leading to a liquidation loss of tens of millions; I bought over 200 altcoins on Binance, investing between $5,000 to several hundred thousand in each. The disputes between Musk and Trump, and the conflicts between Iran and Israel, led to further liquidations of two to three million dollars. Now, I am left with some Bitcoins and 18 million in bank debt (with a repayment of 3 million scheduled for tomorrow). It took only two years to go from billionaire to 15 million in debt.
4. Nirvana Awaiting Rebirth:#
Has my crypto career ended? No, it’s just a "temporary break." As a pioneer in China's crypto circle, I have experienced both glory and low points. What was my biggest mistake? Not exiting the crypto world in time after the "café incident." Now, I still have my assets, resources, and experience, just waiting for the opportunity to go long after the market drops.
In over thirty years of life, with more than a decade in the crypto world, intertwined with bitterness and madness. I am Xia Xueyi, a rural boy with only a primary school education, starting from the dust, yet I have come this far with Bitcoin. Even if I lose everything now, what remains is still more than I could have imagined back then. What do I have to be dissatisfied with? What right do I have to complain about fate?
